MAY HOMESCHOOL DAYS: “Historic Preservation”
In our May Homeschool Days program, students will engage with important themes such as environmental sustainability, cultural heritage, and climate adaptation. Following the lesson, students will review a case study on historic preservation in Charleston, SC, and complete worksheets relating to the subject matter, as well as complete an urban planning project activity. This program is recommended for students ages 10-18. Students will learn: how cities like Charleston protect historic buildings from the effects of climate change, how to compare the city of Charleston to Beaumont, and how to discuss the balance of historic preservation and adapting to environmental change.
“Homeschool Days – Historic Preservation” will take place on May 28, 2026, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on the grounds of the John Jay French Museum. The session costs $5.00 per student and includes a history lesson and related activity. Please complete your form and payment below. Spots are limited!
