Heritage Happy Hour – Beaumont Botanical Gardens

09/22/2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for our next Heritage Happy Hour on September 22nd, 2022 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Beaumont Botanical Gardens in Tyrrell Park! Enjoy craft beer showcased by Giglio Distributing Co., wine, and a stroll in beautifully kept gardens.

The Beaumont Council of Garden Clubs, consisting of garden clubs, plant societies, and nature-oriented organizations, was formed on April 12, 1951, to obtain and sustain a public garden center.  In 1968 the City of Beaumont set aside 10 acres of land in the historic Tyrrell Park for the Beaumont Council of Garden Clubs to develop. The original Beaumont Garden Center Building was constructed using bricks from the Southern Pacific Railroad Passenger Station and was dedicated on August 20, 1971.

About Tyrrell Park: In 1923, Captain W.C. Tyrrell donated 1500 acres to be used as a park. Between November 24, 1935, and June 30, 1941, the Civilian Conservation Corps Company 845 built the park entrance way, stables, roads, nature trails, and recreation buildings. Tyrrell Park also served as a prisoner of war camp for German prisoners during World War II.

-Free for all Beaumont Heritage Society members
-$10 for all non-BHS members 21+

Heritage Happy Hour is an ongoing outreach program typically held every other month, with each event highlighting a historical landmark, time, exhibit, or organization and features craft beer provided by Giglio Distributing Co. (wine and non-alcoholic beverages also available). We believe that by promoting and sharing our local history and its historical significance in a fun and social way, we can also share and promote the efforts to preserve Beaumont’s historical landscape. Join the Beaumont Heritage Society today at and be a part of making a difference!
