The Christmas Candlelight Tour will be held on Friday, December 8th from 5:30-7:30.
The 1845 French family home will be decorated inside and out with fresh greenery as they would have done so many years ago. Visitors will hear about Christmas traditions from the 1800’s from costumed docents stationed inside the historic home. There will be two readings of “A Visit From St. Nicholas (Twas the Night Before Christmas) on the front porch at the top of each hour.
In Heritage Hall, The Southeast Texas Dulcimer Friends will play seasonal favorites beginning at 6:00pm, and there will be Christmas crafts for children like those the French family might have made.
To top it all off, a period appropriate Santa Clause will be on the grounds for visits with little ones and there will be a caroling hayride around the French Museum grounds!
Light refreshments will be provided. This family-friendly event promises to return guests to a simpler time when this historic home sat on the Texas frontier!
Admission is $5.00 (ages 4+)
