Job Title: Groundskeeper

Employment Type: Part- Time (Hourly) | 28 Hours a Week
Pay: $17 – 22 per hour
Position Overview:
The Beaumont Heritage Society is seeking a dependable and self-motivated Groundskeeper to join our team. This position is responsible for the upkeep and appearance of the Society’s historic properties and grounds. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with groundskeeping, mowing, trimming, and light maintenance, as well as basic proficiency in small engine repair and upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mow lawns, trim edges, shape hedges/bushes and maintain landscaped areas at all BHS properties.
- Operate and maintain mowers, weed-eaters, blowers, pressure washer, power tools, and other landscaping equipment.
- Perform routine small engine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Spray for weeds and insects as needed, following safety and environmental guidelines.
- Assist with general property maintenance, including debris removal, cleaning, and basic repairs such as changing light fixtures, painting, mold removal, and repairing toilets.
- Support event setup, takedown, and occasionally working through events as needed.
- Monitor grounds for safety and appearance, reporting issues to supervisor promptly.
- Wash sidewalks, buildings, and porches as needed.
- Occasional removal of deceased animals on the property.
- Frequent delivery of supplies and equipment between museums.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of small engine maintenance and repair required.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain landscaping and maintenance tools and equipment.
- Must be comfortable climbing ladders.
- Must be capable of working alone.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Texas driver’s license
Schedule & Compensation:
- Part – Time
- Weekday schedule with occasional weekends for events
