DESCRIPTION:Join the Beaumont Amateur Radio Club (BARC) and Beaumont Heritage Society for ARRL Field Day!\n\nHead to the John Jay French Museum on Saturday\, June 22nd from 1 – 4 p.m. to learn more about the BARC\, ham radio\, and what they do for our community. Beaumont Heritage Society will have a small panel exhibit on the history of the club and radio in Beaumont!\n\n\nWhat is ARRL Field Day?\n\nIt’s when more than 40\,000 ham radios across North America set up temporary transmitting stations to demonstrate ham radio’s science\, skills\, and service to communities! ARRL Field Day is all about public service\, emergency preparedness\, and community outreach. This annual event has been happening since 1933!\n\n\nWho is Beaumont Amateur Radio Club?\n\nThe club was founded in 1958 and will mark its 66th anniversary this July! Amateur Radio (ham radio) is a popular hobby and service that brings people\, electronics\, and communication together. People use HAM radio to talk across town\, across the world\, and even into space!
