Holiday Heritage Happy Hour~FREE to Members
11/18/2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The Jefferson Theatre is partnering with the Beaumont Heritage Society for this special Holiday Heritage Happy Hour! BHS MEMBERS will be given COMPLIMENTARY ENTRY into this family-friendly showing of the heart-warming holiday classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” in the very place where Jimmy Stewart and Frank Capra made an appearance in March of 1947 as one of five nationwide premieres of the film.
Travel back in time to 1946 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the official movie release. Come in 1940’s PERIOD ATTIRE (not required, but definitely adds to the fun!) and stroll the red carpet as you enjoy a refreshing beverage showcased by Giglio Distributing Co. Who knows, the paparazzi might document your grand entrance!
The Lamar University Archives and Special Collections will be on hand at the event with photos and memorabilia commemorating the historic premiere and the Lamar University Cardinal Jazz Messengers will perform.
This screening is open to the general public. Non-members pay regular ticket prices, so why not JOIN TODAY AND GET FREE ENTRY! We wish to thank the Jefferson Theatre for graciously sharing the ticket sale proceeds with the Beaumont Heritage Society in support of our mission to promote historical education and preservation in Beaumont. This theatre is a true Beaumont treasure, so please don’t miss this opportunity to commemorate this special historic event!
Heritage Happy Hour is an on-going partnership between the BHS and Giglio Distributing Co. Each event highlights an historical exhibit, time period, or landmark, as well as craft beer or brewery that is being showcased by Giglio Distributing Co. The event generally takes place every other month and the location will be subject to change as we highlight historical landmarks throughout our city. The Beaumont Heritage Society and Giglio Distributing Co. believe that by promoting and sharing our local history and its historical significance that we can also share and promote the efforts to preserve Beaumont’s historical landscape.
