Heritage Happy Hour~FREE to Members/$10 Non-Members 21+
06/16/2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm| $10.00
Join us at the iconic Mildred Building for an up close look at this Mediterranean Revival beauty! Built in 1929 by oilman Miles Frank Yount as a monument to his adopted daughter Mildred, this building is the city’s only example of an upper class apartment house to survive from the era after the second Spindletop oil boom. The 18 unit building has no two apartments alike, and was built with modern innovations including cooling and central vacuum. The Mildred Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We will be showing Yount family film footage of old Beaumont while you enjoy craft beer and good conversation in these beautiful Mediterranean inspired surroundings! Heritage Happy Hour is always free to members of the BHS and $10.00 for non-members 21 and over. All events are family friendly. Those under 21 admitted free of charge.
Heritage Happy Hour is an on-going partnership between the BHS and Giglio Distributing Co. Each event highlights an historical exhibit, time period, or landmark, as well as craft beer or brewery that is being showcased by Giglio Distributing Co. The event is expected to take place every other month and the location will be subject to change as we highlight historical landmarks throughout our city. The Beaumont Heritage Society and Giglio Distributing Co. believe that by promoting and sharing our local history and its historical significance that we can also share and promote the efforts to preserve Beaumont’s historical landscape.
